Jointed field trials of autonomous and semi-autonomous buses, with Nagoya Railroad Co.,Ltd., Gunma University and NTT Data Corporation

2019.04.15

Field trials period;
8th Apil 2019 〜12th Apil 2019

Development period;
approximately three months

These field trials of autonomous and semi-autonomous buses are described as a Aichi prefecture first on a public road, between Owariasahi station and Aichiikadaigaku hospital (4.5 km).

We, SFM Co. ,Ltd. collaborated supplying a software automatically recognizing faces of passengers using own algorithm as well as hardware devices. We controlled an interface for operation within platform of Nagoya Railroad Co.,Ltd., Gunma University
and NTT Data Corporation.

This is a creative approach and innovation identifying passengers immediately by faces. They are credentials always available, do not get lost or stolen.

It is innovative because face recognition in buses were done across a number of common real-world scenario such as day light and weather changes.

We are creative since we are aware that
operators are under pressure to face a growing shortage of drivers as well as to face increased numbers of aged passengers.
